This is another one of our products that we did a little trial run of in-house, thought it was ace, then got our mushroom cultivation Discord community to test. It’s been a heck of a ride and now we’re promoting it to the big leagues of being a Proper Product™ now. We like the cut of its jib.
If you’re new to this: everyone tries out various different grain bags for mushrooms, and then eventually they’ll settle on something they like. Everything’s got various pros and cons: sometimes you want it done in a hurry, other times you’d rather wait a bit to space out your mushroom grows, and the various sizes and nutritional profiles of the different grains are the elements that make these differences happen.
But what about if you throw a whole bunch of it together like a big fuckin’ bag of pick n’ mix? Everyone loves pick n’ mix, right? Damn right you do. Imagine eating a whole cup of those little foamy prawn bastards in one go - no thank you sir. But get a few in there, along with the obligatory giant gummy worm and some of those little buttons with sprinkles on that we suspect are made from dog chocolate, and you’ve got a nice little treat going on. We thought we’d give it a go with some mushrooms, and yeah, it’s another tick in the box for “of course mushrooms like it, mushrooms aren’t dumb”.
We’ve put this together so that the mycelial growth ramps up nicely - we’ve got millet which has got a nice small grain size so there are plenty of points of contact for that initial colonisation stage, red dari (which is also called giant millet in some places) to add a little bit of slower-to-eat stuff with more surface area, and then a decent amount of oats to crank up the grain size and the nutrient profile even further. These bags are versatile as heck and the combination of the three different grains means that all the bases are covered in terms of what your mycelium needs to thrive - magnesium, phosphorous, folate, iron, copper, B1, B3, all of that good shit.
Everything gets weighed out, prepared, and then sterilised for 3hrs at 15 PSI before being bagged up and then posted out to you so you can grow mushrooms. It’s the circle of life.
✅ What’s better than one good thing? Three good things!
✅ Millet and red dari and oats, expertly prepared
✅ Bulk deals available
✅ Needs to be mixed with your favourite substrate once it’s all colonised
✅ Will happily grow (almost) any kind of mushroom (no naughty ones please)

Storage:
- Will last around six weeks depending on where you store it
- Store it in the middle of the road on a hot day? It will last about an hour if the birds don't get to it first
- Store it somewhere cool and dark? It will last six weeks(ish)
- If you freeze it you will probably destroy it so don’t do that
- Keep it upright and don’t cover the filter patch
Gonna need some sterile substrate to go with this, so click here to save having to scroll about.

When your order arrives:
Take out of the packaging!
The number one cause of contamination is leaving bags in the original packaging for too long. Remove all sterile grain and substrate from the packaging when it arrives. Allow air to reach the white filters.
Check for damages
Before you get to work, have a quick check of all bags to ensure no splits or damage has occured during transit. If you find any damages or issues
Storage
Store grain and substrate in a cool dry place (not the fridge). Use by date on the bag although the highest chance of success comes from using the product at it's freshest.
