Gypsum (Calcium Sulphate)
Calcium sulphate, otherwise known as gypsum, is an inert non-nutritious powder used in mushroom cultivation in three main ways:
- Added to grain when making grain spawn to help break it up once fully colonised.
- Mixed with the main substrate on which mushrooms are to be grown to help maintain optimal Ph levels.
- Used in Cordyceps liquid culture.
