Gypsum (Calcium Sulphate) for Mushroom Substrates

Calcium sulphate, otherwise known as gypsum, is an inert non-nutritious powder used in mushroom cultivation in three main ways:

1. Added to grain when making grain spawn to help break it up once fully colonised.
2. Mixed with the main substrate on which mushrooms are to be grown to help maintain optimal Ph levels. 
3. Used in Cordyceps liquid culture.
