This is pretty much our Beginner Mushroom Grow Kit, which is an amazing way to start off growing mushrooms, but we’ve changed it ever-so-slightly: we managed to get an amazing price on the milo, so by removing the “choose-your-own-grain” element we can keep the cost right down for ya!

Starting off a new hobby is a bit daunting sometimes, especially one like mycology. There’s a lot of things that can go wrong, because you’re trying to A) fuck about with nature and get stuff to grow where it doesn’t usually and B) stop all the other things that want to grow on your grain from growing. We think that growing mushrooms is such a rewarding pastime that we’ve designed this growkit to take a large chunk of that guesswork away. Follow the instructions, and you’ll have more of a head start than we did when we began!

We want to see as many people growing mushrooms as possible so every single bit of this kit is designed to get you on that track at an affordable price. You’ll still need to do plenty of reading, it’s not some kind of imaginary shortcut, but it’s an excellent beginning to your journey on the way to being the cool mushroom grower in your friend group. Yeah it’s still cool, it’s got a nice naturey niche to it but it’s also sciencey as fuck and those two things combined will always be a good day out.

When we were testing this kit out in the earlier days, we often had 3-700g flushes, which will usually give you anywhere from 1-3.5oz of dried mushrooms (like a can of Special Brew, mushrooms are around 90% water). Same awesome ingredients we use in all of our other products, no corners cut, just good ol’ fashioned haggling over the price of grain like what we imagine farmers do.

What’s in the kit?

• 1kg sterile grain of your choice as long as your choice is milo
• 2kg sterile CVG (this is your substrate)
• Gloves (optional), wipes and accessories

What’s not in the kit?

• Spores
• Gourmet liquid cultures
• Bees
• Grains other than milo

Please don’t use this kit to try and grow magic mushrooms if you’re living somewhere that it’s a crime. If you really wanna do that sort of thing then buy one of these and hop over to a legal country like Jamaica or Brazil and then all of a sudden it’s completely fine because morality isn’t a fixed concept.

Storage:

• The grain will last about 6 weeks but use it as soon as you can
• Substrate should be around 6 months but as soon as your grain is ready
