People have been asking us for it, so we’ve sorted it - the MycoPunks Mini Flow unit!

The Mini Flow has got the same fool-proof plug and play tech that our bigger Flow units have: you’ll get the same 0.3 micron 99.97% efficient laminar flow perfection as the chunkier models, we’ve just shrunk it down a bit (to 2’x1.5’). Not everyone’s got the dedicated space to have a big four-foot flow unit lying around when they’re not using it, so we thought we might as well get rid of that particular road bump in people’s mycology journey. “Four Foot Flow Unit” would be a sick band name, incidentally.

Flow units are the best way to up your mycology game, there’s no doubt: if you want to start working with agar and tissue samples, or even just to absolutely minimise any chance of contamination when getting ready for your next mushroom grow, then you need one. Yep, you have to sacrifice a little on the amount of clean laminar flow air space that you’ve got to work in, but we’ve been playing around with them for a while and it’s more than enough space to get your small-to-medium sized jobs done.

If you’re working out of your kitchen or your bedroom, or if you’re sharing space with other people and need to make sure you’re all packed up afterwards then this is the one for you. Also if you’ve got trousers like a nu-metal kid in the early 2000’s you can pop it right in a side pocket and have the freshest legs in town. Not sure how long the filters last with that particular use case but if you are mental and do this, feel free to report back. 

Obviously as it’s a bit smaller, the replacement filter and pre-filter are also smaller: this means these consumable parts will cost you a bit less too, so if you want a really nice little entry point to the Fantastic World of Flowhoodery for as little cash as possible, get at it.

To set it up and get growing mushrooms, just take it out of the box, plug it in, and turn it on. That’s literally all you’ve gotta do to reduce your accidental failure rates to virtually none. Easy street.
