Don’t like pigeons? This is their favourite food! TAKE IT AND GROW MUSHROOMS ON IT!
Love pigeons? Even better! Treat them to some of their favourite food that has been prepared in such a luxurious manner that Gordon Ramsay himself would be out shopping for nooses because he’d know that he was never gonna hit this peak of culinary excellence.
Ready to go sterile whole white millet, cooked up in a 4t Unicorn Bag. We take some millet (part of the grass family, and an ancient grain), pressure cook it for 3 hours at 15psi to make sure all the natural contaminants are goners, and then you get to buy some, add some liquid culture to it, and end up with a bag full of your own home-made millet grain spawn to do with as you so please.
Opinions! Everyone’s got one and I’m sure they’re all delightful, just like bums. What I’m saying is when it comes to growing mushrooms at home, people tend to have their favourites. It’s like breakfast cereals: there’s a whole range of grain varieties out there for your mycelium to eat for breakfast. Some are strong and sturdy like a Shredded Wheat, others are flashy little over-achievers like Cinnamon Grahams. They’ve all got their pros and cons, so try a few out and see what suits your own particular mycological style. MIllet has lots of vitamins and minerals in it (just like Cinnamon Grahams), including phosphorous, magnesium, folate, and iron. These are all used by the mycelium to produce mushrooms, so it just makes sense to make sure it’s got access to a top-notch supply of them.
✅ Loved by pigeons, us, and also members of the MycoPunks Millet Mafia
✅ Smaller grain size than other varieties which means it’ll colonise quicker
✅ Needs to be added to substrate of your choice once fully colonised
✅ Used to grow all kinds of mushrooms (please don’t grow magic mushrooms on this, thanks)
✅ Sterilised for 3hrs at 15 PSI so you could eat your dinner off it
✅ May contain the odd bit of chaff, this is expected in grain products and is no problem
✅ Great nutrient profile = healthy mycelium, better yields
✅ Automatic discounts, you keep adding bags, we keep dropping the price!

Storage:
- Shelf stable for 6 weeks but best to use it straight away
- Keep it somewhere cool and dark like a penguin’s satchel
- That doesn’t mean a fridge or a freezer as that’ll wreck the grain
- Store upright
- Make sure the white filter patch isn’t covered or your mycelium won’t be able to breathe
We’d recommend using a still air box, but if you’re really getting into growing mushrooms then it might be worth considering purchasing a flow unit, which completely coincidentally we also happen to sell right here!
Wanna make your own millet grain spawn? We sell raw whole white millet here too!
Here is a nice video we did which shows you how to inoculate your new grain.

When your order arrives:
Take out of the packaging!
The number one cause of contamination is leaving bags in the original packaging for too long. Remove all sterile grain and substrate from the packaging when it arrives. Allow air to reach the white filters.
Check for damages
Before you get to work, have a quick check of all bags to ensure no splits or damage has occured during transit. If you find any damages or issues
Storage
Store grain and substrate in a cool dry place (not the fridge). Use by date on the bag although the highest chance of success comes from using the product at it's freshest.
