Take one out of the sterile packaging, gently get it all up in the gills, and give it a twirl. You’ll end up with loads of spores on the end of your applicator. Get it back in the packet, seal it up, and then later on use it with some agar and boom! Now you’re doing a science!

You could also take a few with you when you’re out for a nice nature walk, and you might be able to gather some spores from some interesting varieties without disturbing the fruiting body too much. I wonder if that technically counts as dogging, on some level? You’d then want to clean it all up on some agar plates and you’d have your very own wild-harvested mushroom dogging haul.
