1kg Sterile Grain + 4kg Supplemented Hardwood Substrate Bundle

This is strangely like the 1kg Sterile Grain + 2.6kg Supplemented Hardwood Substrate Bundle except we’ve added another 1.4kg of substrate into a bigger bag.

For all your wood-loving species, just inoculate the grain with your liquid culture of choice, wait until it’s fully colonised, and then mix it in with the supplemented hardwood substrate. Sit around and wait for a while (probably best to get something else in for dinner for the next few weeks), and then reap (quite literally) the fruits of your labour. Growing gourmet mushrooms is surprisingly easy and really good fun, as once they’ve started pinning they increase in size incredibly quickly; you can watch them virtually double in size overnight. It’s a really good way to get kids into a more “earthy” kind of hobby, as the rapid changes keep their interest sustained. 

As the hardwood substrate (and the bran supplement) itself provides a nutrient source to the mycelium, we can up the size of the bag without compromising the fruiting capacity. This means that the process will take slightly longer as there’s more work for the mycelium to do before fruiting, but the payoff is more mushrooms, so we’ll let you work out what suits you best. It’s probably “more mushrooms”, you can never have enough mushrooms.
