Whole Oats (Groats) for Mushroom Spawn

Would make awful porridge which healthy people like.

I'll leave the Quakers to the breakfast business, I'm in the mushroom growing business.

Anyway, oats make a great cheaper spawn grain.

Note: There might be other bits in with your grain (seeds / chaff) it won't affect anything and the mushrooms will munch on it willingly.
