We've had a huge amount of support since we started in 2021.
It's because of you all that we get to work in the mycology industry. We are equally privileged also to be in a position to help other budding mycologists.
UK Mycology research is vastly underfunded so we feel we have an obligation to do what we can to support.
We have been doing sporadic donations to mycology grassroots groups around the UK since we started.
It's time for something with a bit more focus and structure to support citizen science.
How does it work?
If you have an idea for a project, be it a workers cooperative farm, art project, university mycology project or fungi survey you can apply for materials from MycoPunks at no cost.
You don't need to be part of a recognised group either. If you have a cool idea and need some support, you are welcome to apply.
Review Process
We will review submissions monthly and aim to support at least one project. Please try and be as detailed as possible with your requirements, don't ask for more than is required for the project. It's fine to ask for additional resources after approval. The more information provided, the more likely your project will be supported.
Who can apply?
You. Literally anyone as long as the project is based in the UK. We encourage people all walks of life to apply.
Who should not apply.
Those looking to start a business. People looking to learn about mushroom cultivation. Those with no applicable skills looking to learn.
Can we apply for financial support?
In some circumstances this is possible. The review process will be more in depth.
