Borosilicate Glass Agar Pouring Lab Bottle Anti Drip

Well, you certainly know you’re getting into a hobby when you’re buying glass bottles to help you along with it. It’s a pretty good glass bottle though, it’s a Simax GL45 Reagent Laboratory Bottle. It’s clear, it’s got a cap and a ring (so it won’t drip on your hands), and it’s made of Borosilicate glass so it can handle mad amounts of thermal stress.

You’d use this sort of bottle in your pressure cooker or autoclave, as you can pour your liquid in there (sterile water, agar solution, soup) and then sterilise it without any risk of the bottle exploding in the heat. 

Safety Tip: Wait till everything’s cooled down before you start trying to handle it, getting burned sucks and you could live without it. 

If you’re producing sterile media for your mushroom cultivation shenanigans, then you pretty much have to be using a SAB at the absolute minimum, but really you’re gambling with your hard work if you’re not using one of our amazing flow units. Don’t go to all the effort of making something sterile only to let your environment wreck it!
