Support our DNA sequencing research

As some of you might know, we are in the process of setting up an Oxford Nanopore sequencing pipeline. 

Each year we want to offer free DNA sequencing during Mycoblitz in Autumn and eventually throughout the year.

This is an incredibly important community science project that invites anyone to observe, document and collect specimens for sequencing with the objective of mapping fungal species across Europe. 

The equipment, chemicals and consumables required to run this project is fully funded by MycoPunks and the initial setup costs are around £7000 with ongoing costs for flow cells, lab bits and chemicals for each run.

We have in our possession approximately 5000 samples for our first sequencing run which we hope will start early next year (Jan/Feb).

You can support us by contributing samples or if you are able to financially support the cost of the project that is rad too!
