    These filters can be applied to metal jar lids to allow your culture to breathe while protecting it from contaminant spores and bacteria. Punch 1/4" hole(s) in your metal lid discs before applying the filter. One to two holes are usually sufficient. Great for projects involving wedge transfers and grain transfers.

    Hi, are these SFDs for the jar lids (86mm) made out of cellulose, or micropore tape or felt, or what? And how thick are they? I'm looking for high quality SFDs that will withstand many PC cycles. Thank you.

    Hi Mike,

    They are ePTFE but filters like this survive no more than 3 or so PC cycles. Ideally you want to replace them every few cycles.
