50L Vermiculite for Casing Layer/Hydration of Mushroom Substrates (Fine/Medium)
“Look out, here he comes, it’s Big Verm”: that’s what they’ll be calling you if you buy this. Whether that’s a good or a bad thing is up to you but I think it sounds cool.
Vermiculite is super useful for your mycology antics, because it absorbs a decent amount of water. This is then available for your mycelium to spend when it’s growing mushrooms, and it also helps to hold your nutrients in the substrate. It’s the “V” in CVG, the holy trinity of the home cultivator. It’s also got little golden sparkles in which makes it the most whimsical addition to your growing kit.
If you’re creating your own substrate at home (good on ya, we love to see it), then this is an essential additive. Might as well buy a large bag of it, eh?
✅Natural, non-toxic compost component
✅Vermiculite is porous and holds water
✅Cation exchange properties (holds nutrients in the soil)

- Keep it somewhere hot and wet like a shower that’s turned on
