This will give your mycelium a bit more to chew on than a standard MEA plate. Because it’s reasonably complex as a food source, you can use this for long-term storage of your cultures. It’s basically the biggest jump in everyone’s mycology journey because it makes everything a million times more consistent, and it isn’t very difficult to use. You’d have a few more losses than if you had a flow unit, but even so your odds of success will be so much better with agar.
